Playing outside, even in “bad” weather
With snow, but also with rain and wind, we at CompaNanny simply go outside. But why is that?

As of this year, we are using the new job title “Pedagogical Professional” for our colleagues working in the groups. This change is set out in the Childcare Collective Labour Agreement, and at CompaNanny we fully agree with it. After all, our colleagues are knowledgeable, committed, and work every day with care and attention on the development of each child. True professionals!
From this month on, you will see and hear this new title reflected in our communications. Both within the groups and beyond.
From“Pedagogical Employee” to “Pedagogical Professional”
Why playing outside is healthy in even more ways? Janine explains that, and shares how you can encourage your child to go outdoors more often, in our own podcast, and blog.
Our podcast and blog are in Dutch.
“Outside, there is more room to move and to explore. Your child can climb higher and run farther. There is also more space outdoors for creative play: with chalk, for example, the whole street becomes your canvas. It therefore offers many more possibilities that are not so easy to create indoors.”
Janine - Policy Pedagogue
Last week, the children thoroughly enjoyed the wintry weather in our gardens. From building snowmen and decorating them with paint to sledding and free play in the crisp outdoor air.
After that, it was time to warm up again. Curling up on the couch with a book or, as at CompaNanny Kleverpark, by simply bringing the snow indoors. Using shovels, containers, and their hands, the children discovered all the things you can do with the grainy, cold snow.
The snow clearly brought lots of joy to our branches!
